John-Paul has been working in IT since 1989 when he first started networking CAD systems. He then moved into full time 'C' programming before being employed as a Systems Analyst, then Project Manager and finally a 2iC MIS manager.

John Paul also did a few years as a network engineer for CMC (Computer Management Centre).
In 1997, whist working as the Professional Services manager for CMC, he and a few others executed a Management Buyout of this division.
